The Panathenaic Stadium and the Arch of Hadrian in Athens were illuminated in green on Monday evening.
St. Patricks Day, which is also known as the ‘Feast of Saint Patrick’, is an Irish cultural and religious celebration held on March 17.
The Embassy of Ireland in Athens thanked the Hellenic Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Culture and the Civil Aviation Authority, for “this gesture of friendship and solidarity”.
