70% of the European Union population will be vaccinated by the end of the summer, said Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas.
At the same time, he expressed the hope that there will be an agreement before the summer on the "green certificate."
"This is the largest vaccination program in human history. No one has ever bought so many vaccines from so many companies for so many people," said Schinas from the sidelines of his meeting in Thessaloniki with the mayor of Serres, Alexandros Chrysafis.
He underlined that by the end of June there will be 300,000,000 doses that would have already been distributed,
This is in addition to the already 60,000,000 doses that will be available by the end of March.
"By the end of the summer, maybe a little earlier, we will be able to vaccinate 70% of the general European population, and before the summer all the elderly," he said.
