Israeli tourists permitted to enter Greece with Green Pass

Following a deal on Monday night, Greece has allowed Israeli tourists into the country beginning on Tuesday.

Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis informed Israeli Ambassador Yossi Amrani that Israel’s Green Pass will allow 10,000 tourists from his country to enter Greece every week until the official opening of the tourist season on May 14.

The Green Pass is a certificate highlighting that the individual has either been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or recovered from the virus and thus has antibodies.

The pass allows tourists to enter Greece without a negative COVID-19 test or undergo quarantine on arrival.

Israel leads the world in vaccinations per capita and its COVID-19 infection rates have plummeted in recent weeks, leading to the government’s lifting of lockdown restrictions, i24 News reported.
