Northern Greece engulfed with posters of the 1821 Greek Revolution

By 3 years ago

Days before we celebrate the 200th anniversary of liberation from the Turkish yoke, dozens of citizens participated in a poster run across 17 cities in Northern Greece.

Specifically, posters hung in Thessaloniki, Chalkidiki (Moudania), Katerini, Kozani, Kastoria, Grevena, Florina, Siatista, Naoussa, Veria, Edessa, Pella, Giannitsa, Serres, Drama, Kavala, Komotini and areas.

The posters depict faces of the main figures from the 1821 Greek Revolution and are accompanied with messages like "Battle for faith and homeland", "For Christ, faith and freedom for the homeland" and "Glory and honor in 1821."
