Re-opening of St. Basil’s Day Centres for seniors

Are you an older person and looking for a place to spend a few hours with a group of friends?

Are you looking after a person with dementia?

Are you a working carer with older parents and hoping for a little peace of mind while you’re at work?

St. Basil's NSW & ACT Day Centres reopened this week across all of its Lakemba, Randwick and Miranda sites and they are here to help.

Throughout the COVID pandemic whilst the Day Centres were closed St. Basils redirected services into consumers' homes to continue supporting them.

However, the Day Centres are now able to resume operations and St. Basil’s has a COVID safe plan in place, following strict infection control guidelines and measures to help keep consumers safe.

St. Basil’s Day Centres are warm and inviting places that offer interesting and stimulating programs and nutritious and delicious meals, inspired by the Mediterranean diet.

The St. Basil’s NSW & ACT Day Centres promote social interaction and wellbeing.

Through centre based respite care consumers are able to get out and about, and meet new people for their social enjoyment.

They can attend social, recreational and group activities in a centre based setting for a couple of hours during the day.

Attending a centre based care respite service may allow the carers of an elderly loved one time to do other things.

St Basil’s NSW & ACT Day Centres also provide appropriate and sensitive care for people with a dementia diagnosis.

Clients at the St Basil’s NSW & ACT Day Centres are looked after by kind and caring trained staff who are there to look after the needs of you or your loved one.

Part of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia, St Basil’s NSW & ACT is a registered Australian charity established for the provision of aged care, aiming to provide the best possible quality aged care services within a culturally appropriate environment.

To achieve this St Basil’s has developed expertise in providing aged care services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate.

St. Basil’s currently operates three Day Centres at the following locations:

130 Croydon Street Lakemba NSW
29H Wandella Road North, Miranda NSW
57-63 St Paul’s Street, Randwick NSW

Transport may be available to and from the centres, depending on where you live.

For more information about our day centres, visit the St Basil’s website or call St Basil’s on (02) 9784 3212.
