Speaking to army officers in southeastern Turkey, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar, said in reference to the Aegean and East Mediterranean: "To this day, we continue pursuing an extremely sensible and prudent policy without hesitation."
"We are not in favour of escalating tensions," he said, adding that Turkey would always state its good intentions.
This was said just days after Turkish Coast Guard vessels violated Greek maritime territory and even crashed in a Greek patrol boat.
"Despite our constructive, positive, peaceful and clear stance on talks, unfortunately the provocative actions of our Greek neighbours continue escalating the tension," the minister said without providing examples.
"Using the language of threats, they pursue their own specific goals," he once again claimed, without any examples as is the norm for Turkish officials when commenting about Greece and Cyprus.
"We say and continue to say every time that all this is in vain, that the threats against our country, our nation and our armed forces will have no effect and that with such ways and methods there will be no solution," Akar continued.
The Turkish Minister of Defence claimed his country has contributed to stability and peace.
He said:
"Our Greek neighbours must realise that by constantly changing the interpretation of the law or making claims beyond international law or with their rhetoric presenting to some the facts without responding to reality to find supporters, will end up nowhere.
"They may be able to find supporters, but all this is against the law.
"International law is specific.
"All other claims have no force."
As has been accustomed, Akar did not reference which international law Greece violates and omitted that his country is one of only 15 countries in the whole world to not sign and/or ratify the United Nations Charter Law of the Sea.
Many of the non-signatories are landlocked countries.
He continued his rant by acknowledging that Greece is making "some progress on some things, but they must see that the end has not yet come."
