"I welcome the visit of Prime Minister Mitsotakis to Libya as it gives the message of peace and that the Mediterranean is and will remain a sea and a place of peace and prosperity," he said.

In his statements, during the meeting he had with the Minister of Tourism Harry Theocharis in Cairo, the Prelate of Alexandria pointed out that "Libya is a country adjacent to Egypt, which is in the spiritual jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Alexandria."

"Do not forget that my title contains areas of Alexandria, Libya, Pentapolis, Ethiopia, all Egypt and all Africa," he added.

Finally, the Primate of the African Orthodox Church, Theodore stated that “the Metropolitan of Tripoli is already preparing to be there again in our area."

"And our churches in Tripoli and Benghazi, together with our embassy, ​​together with the consulates to give a dynamic presence in this country, which will play a great role in the future in the reconciliation of the peoples," he added.
