Russia denies Mitsotakis' claim that it cannot provide Sputnik V vaccines to Greece

The administrators of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, said they are capable of supplying dosages to Greece despite Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis claiming that it is not possible.

As early as May, 500,000 doses of Sputnik V can be provided to Greece.

With the message of "together we are stronger," the Sputnik V team confirms the existence of vaccines even when taking into account the requirements of 59 other countries.

It is noted that the supposed issue of supplying Sputnik V to Greece was discussed in Parliament.

Mitsotakis stated that Greece could turn to Russia "if vaccines were available" but stressed that:

"There are currently no significant quantities of vaccines available from Russia, and if we wanted to buy vaccines from Russia, there are no such quantities that are worth the effort to have this discussion."

However, this has been contradicted by Russia announcing that it can provide half a million vaccines next month.

Leader of the opposition SYRIZA party, Alexis Tsipras, told Mitsotakis that COVID-19 vaccines "is not a matter of geopolitical balances."

Tsipras highlighted that Austria has already made a deal with for Sputnik V, while a relevant discussion is underway in Germany.
