Tourism Minister Harry Theocharis started his three day trip to Moscow to market Greece to Russian tourists this summer.

On Wednesday he attended the opening of the Photography Exhibition at the ITAR-TASS news agency.

This was part of 2021, the year of Greek-Russian history.

On Thursday, Theocharis will have official meetings with Zarina Doguzova, Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism), and Deputy Minister of Transport, Dmitriy Zverev.

A common theme in all the meetings are issues concerning tourism, the rules and protocols for opening retail and borders, and further developments in relations between Greece and Russia, especially in the tourism sector.

On Friday, Theocharis will hold a meeting with Christofor Alexandrovich Konstantinidi, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture, Sports, Tourism and National Policy.

He will also meet with Dimitris Sarakianidis, Honorary Consul of Greece in Sochi and with the First Vice President of the Russian Geographical Society, Nikolay Kasimov.

During his stay in the Russian capital, the Minister of Tourism will meet with the Greek Consul in Moscow, with Greek expatriates, Russian officials and investors, with the Greek coach of PBC CSKA Moscow Dimitris Itoudis, and also with the owner of the team.

During his visit to Moscow, Theocharis will also meet with representatives of leading tourist groups and agencies from Russia (Mouzenidis Travel, TEZ TOUR, Biblio Globus, Pegas, Ambotis, Coral, TUI).

Theocharis’ visit to Moscow has also aroused the interest of the largest Russian news networks.

He will give interviews on the largest television and news networks in Russia.

In response to Theocharis’ arrival, the Russian Embassy in Athens wrote on Twitter “Welcome to Moscow.”

“Greece is a favourite destination for Russian tourists,” the embassy said, adding “and Russia offers unlimited possibilities for Greek visitors.”
