Greek gyms protest continued closure under lockdown

Those who passed by Syntagma on Monday morning would have noticed that dozens of sports shoes were placed on the square. The Attica Gym Owners Association held a protest, demanding that the government allow fitness centres to reopen.

Gyms have been shut down since November 2020.

Adhering to social distancing measures, a group of gym instructors also performed a series of exercises.

Gym owners are objecting against the lack of an "industry rescue plan" that is "threatened with extinction."

"Gyms are part of the solution! NO PROBLEM!" was written on the banner of the Attica Gym Owners Association.
