Dendias: Turkey must negotiate with neighboring countries about Akkuyu nuclear plant

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.

The need for Turkey to reach an agreement with neighbouring countries on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Akkuyu was underlined by Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in a Twitter message.

He made the tweet today, the 35th anniversary of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident.

“The Chernobyl disaster, the largest nuclear accident in history, is a constant reminder of the dangers that lurk today,” the foreign minister said.

“As I have pointed out, Turkey must negotiate with neighboring countries for the nuclear power plant under construction in Akkuyu,” he added.
