Greek journalists to strike on May 4

Mass media and journalists’ unions in Greece called for a 24-hour strike on May 4 in observation of Labor Day, they said on Thursday.

Workers in national broadcaster ERT and Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA), municipal radio stations, as well as journalists in the private sector, will not be reporting news from 06:00 on Tuesday (May 4) until 06:00 on Wednesday.

Due to Greek Easter holidays, the observance of Labor Day (May 1) will follow Easter Monday (May 3).
