Record crowds have gathered to celebrate Easter Church services around the nation, as the country experiences a period of relative normality whilst the pandemic still rampages in many other countries across the globe.
Greek Australians celebrate normal Easter masses this year after muted Orthodox Easter celebrations in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time.
Record crowds have gathered to celebrate COVID-19- free Easter Church services around the nation, as the country experiences a period of relative normality whilst the pandemic still rampages in many other countries across the globe.
More than 5,000 people attended the Holy Friday Easter service at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in the Sydney suburb of Sydney.
The service was led by Father Steven Scoutas and Father Amphilohios Papantoniou.
Local politicians were in attendance, including two Greek Orthodox Councillors from the area; Councillor Anthony Andrews and Councillor Harry Stavrinos from Randwick City Council.
The students from St. Spyridon College took part in the service beautifully, singing The Lamentations and carrying the Epitafio.
The entire three hour service was streamed live and uninterrupted by both St. Spyridon Parish and by Greek City Times.

More than 5,000 people joined the Holy Friday-Epitaph service which was led by Bishop Emilianos.
