Crete's beaches packed as temperatures rise

High temperatures have led to many residents in Crete, particularly those in Heraklion, to pack nearby beaches.

Although people from today have the option to enjoy their coffee in one of the many cafes in Heraklion, many preferred to take a dip in today's 38 degree weather.

On the beach of Karteros, many people took a breath of fresh air.

It should be noted that traffic also increased on beaches in municipalities close to Heraklion since inter-municipal movements are also allowed, Creta 24 reported.
