Man stabs police officer in Rhodes after removing the Greek flag

A perpetrator was chased by the police this morning after he removed a Greek flag from the Altar of the Fatherland, located in the center of Mandraki in Rhodes.

However, as Rodiaki reported, the criminal stabbed a 32-year-old policeman with a 20 cm knife in the abdomen.

At around 6:30 this morning, police were informed that an unknown perpetrator had removed the flag from the Altar of the Fatherland and they immediately rushed to search for the perpetrator.

Within a few minutes, the police located the 48-year-old driving his car towards the area of ​​Kolona.

As soon as the 48-year-old noticed the police, he took a fire extinguisher from his vehicle and threw it at them.

Eventually, the police managed to immobilise him.

During a search, the 48-year-old attacked one of the police officers with a knife to the abdomen.

The police officer was transported to the General Hospital of Rhodes in order to receive first aid, fortunately without endangering his life.

The perpetrator was arrested and other improvised knives were found in his possession.
