Toni Nadal praises Nick Kyrgios

Toni Nadal, the uncle and former coach of 20-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, recently praised Nick Kyrgios, calling him one of the biggest attractions in tennis after the 'Big 3'- Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer.

His comments were made at the presentation for the Mallorca Championships, which he serves as tournament director.

Kyrgios will play at the grass court ATP 250 event in Mallorca, Spain, which will be held from June 19th – 26th.

“Nick is a star on the ATP circuit. Undoubtedly, after the ‘Big 3’, he is one of the greatest tennis stars in the world, being the player most followed by the younger generations,” Nadal said.

“He is a great player who, in addition, gives a lot of show on the court. So Nick’s commitment to play in the Mallorca Championships is very important news for us.

“I hope that his presence in the tournament will bring a lot of people to come to Santa Ponça to follow him.”

The entire tennis world knows Nick Kyrgios and Rafael Nadal have historically been at loggerheads with each other.

Earlier this month, Kyrgios confirmed he intends to play the US Open this year.

The young tennis star took almost all of 2020 off due to the coronavirus pandemic and the demands of quarantine attached to international travel.

However, he made a memorable comeback at the 2021 Australian Open, playing his part in two brilliant matches (against Frederico Ferreira Silva and Ugo Humbert) before losing to Dominic Thiem in the third round.
