Turkey made dozens of violations against Greek airspace in the Northeast, Central and Southeast Aegean region yesterday.

The violating aircraft belonged to the Turkish Air Force and Navy.

Specifically, three pairs of F-16's (four of the fighter jets were armed) and two ATR-72s of the Turkish Navy committed a total of 40 violations against Greek airspace.

Two of the violations were overflights by Turkish F-16's over Oinousses and Panagia islands at an altitude of 22,000 feet.

Turkish aircraft were immediately identified, intercepted and chased out of Greek airspace in accordance with international rules.

In 2020, Turkey violated Greek airspace over 400 times.
