Popular Greek singer Nikos Vertis has returned to Greece, as Israel-Gaza violence escalates.

Vertis was scheduled to perform concerts on May 12 and 13.

However due to the situation, which the UN fears could lead to a "full-scale war", the concerts have been postponed.

On Wednesday afternoon, Nikos Vertis landed at Athens International Airport 'Eleftherios Venizelos', and recounted his terrifying experience to reporters.

The Greek singer stated that he was on the 20th floor of the hotel with his team when the strikes started - something that, as he said, made him very worried. However, within half a minute the hotel managers took them to a shelter.

"There is shelter in all the buildings, they are very well prepared for such situations," the singer said, noting that in any case, "it is a terrible feeling to hear sirens and rockets."

"It is one thing to see it on TV and another to live it. It's an experience I wish no one would live," Vertis added.
