The first monument to the Greek Genocide in Pontus in the Connecticut city of Norwalk was unveiled on Sunday.
The Greek Genocide began in 1913 in Eastern Thrace.
Over the next decade, a million Greeks were exterminated by Turkish-Ottoman forces, with about a third of those were in the Pontus region of the southeast Black Sea alone.
The Ottoman perpetrated genocide also saw a further 1.5 million Armenians exterminated and at least half a million Assyrians.
