The Panathenaic Stadium (also known as Kallimarmaro) will host the highly anticipated Dior fashion show, provided the relevant permits are obtained.
The impressive and historical stadium is planned to be used as a natural ‘catwalk’ where on June 17 the French fashion house will present its “Croisière 2022” collection.
This is a collection with a strong Greek influence, Dior’s way of commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution.
At the same time, the models are planned to be photographed at selected archeological sites and monuments around Greece, including the Acropolis.
Requests for the plans have already been submitted to the Central Council for Modern Monuments and the Central Archaeological Council.
According to Protothema, last month Dior executive visited the Acropolis, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of Hephaestus, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Poseidon in Sounion, and the Temple of Zeus in Nemea in order to organise the details for the glamorous show and ad campaign.
