The family's lawyer, Stavros Georgiou, confirmed that the body was that of Efstathios (Stathis) Anthis when speaking to the press.

The body, which found on the rocks behind the hotel which Stathis worked, was discovered on April 13 by the local coastguard.

The male body had deteriorated, and it took 10 days to identify it as Stathis Anthis.

His older brother, Dimitris Anthis, was involved in helping solve the case. Dimitris travelled to the UK on March 29 to assist local officials and friends searching for his brother. He also provided a DNA sample that the authorities used in conjunction with dental records to help identify Stathis's body.
