An incredible story was revealed in Crete, when a 48-year-old man confessed to a robbery he had committed in a bank all the way back in 1996.
The man, according to Creta Live, was then a student and had managed to extract from the cashier the amount of 450,000 drachmas.
Today, he felt that it was time to apologise and return the amount of 1,330 euros to the bank through the police.
He apparently explained to the police why he confessed to the crime so many years later, while for the specific robbery in 1996.
The 48-year-old, in terms of his way of acting, claimed that he did it himself, giving a note to the cashier, writing to her that he has a gun.
Under this threat, he managed to extract the amount.
It seemed he did the robbery due to owed money in gambling.
The case will be brought to justice and the man's testimony will be forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office.
Finally, regarding the money that the 48-year-old handed over to the police station, it will be deposited in the Deposits and Loans Fund.
