Greek, Saudi Tourism Mininisters agree to boost tourism flows and investments

The Tourism Ministers of Greece and Saudi Arabia agreed to the mutual recognition of national vaccination certificates on Thursday, in the context of the "Tourism Recovery Summit" held in Riyadh since Wednesday.

Tourism Minister Harry Theocharis and his Saudi counterpart Ahmed Al-Khateeb also signed an agreement for closer collaborations and for promoting joint actions at World Tourism Organization level, and also within EU's relations in the broader Middle East.

Al-Khateeb also accepted Theocharis' proposal to participate in the 66th meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe (CEU) that will be held in Athens on June 2-4.

Restarting and encouraging tourism between the two countries and promoting tourism investments in Greece was also discussed by the two ministers.

Theocharis also met with representatives of the Council of Saudi Chambers, and with Lebanese Tourism Minister Ramzi Musharrafieh, with whom he agreed that the next trilateral meeting of Greece-Cyprus-Lebanon will include matters pertaining to tourism.
