Santorini to Brussels TUI flight Makes Emergency Landing in Belgrade

More than 120 TUI flights will land in Greece, by the end of the month

A plane bound for Brussels has made an emergency landing at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.

The TUI Airways flight from Santorini Airport made the diversion after it began leaking fuel.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737, with 80 passengers, took off from Santorini heading to Brussels over Bosnia and Herzegovina, then, it made a semicircle over Sabac and landed at the Belgrade airport.

TUI airlines was sent another aircraft to fetch the passengers back to the Belgian capital.

A Serbian aviation expert told the portal B92 that there is no information about what caused the emergency, but he noted that it is scarce for an aircraft of this type to leak fuel.

Officials said all 80 passengers and 6 crew are safe.
