Greek discovery: Saline water reduces the viral load in COVID-19 patients

PCR Test saline

Nasal washes with saline and in particular sodium chloride in a concentration of 5%, removes the viral load from patients with COVID-19 by up to 25%.

This conclusion was reached by the scientific team of Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Patras, Costas Poulas.

As the professor explained, the transmission of the virus is only aerogenic and he talked about how they remove the viral load from the body of patients with saline.

The study was performed on 20 patients whose viral load was reduced by 20% -25% within 6 hours with 3-4 nasopharyngeal/saline washes.

"We thought of removing the virus with repeated nasal washes with a hypertonic solution," the professor said on OPEN TV.

"Because we want to be very careful in both our experiments and what we say, we know that in another University these washes continue during the day for 12 hours and the viral load is reduced even more," he continued.

"We conclude that if someone is found to be PCR positive, that is, to have a viral load, they should immediately start removing the viruses from their nasopharyngeal cavity," Professor Poulas stressed.
