The Mayor of Mykonos, Konstantinos Koukas, was guided to the excavation site of the Castle of Mykonos Town, revealing the architectural remains of the medieval settlement.
However, remains from the Neolithic period, the late Bronze Age, the Bronze Age, the Archaic and Hellenic periods were also found.
The project is fully funded by the Municipality of Mykonos and is implemented by the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades.
This cooperation aims at the permanent and systematic support and synergies with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades, in acts that reveal the depth and breadth of the past of the island, enriching its monumental reserve.
With the island being a global tourist attraction, the first thoughts and processes of its immediate emergence begin with the creation of modern exhibition events within the space.
