Another step towards easing COVID-19 measures seems to be decided by scientists, who are meeting today to discuss the timetable for lifting the measures left over from the lockdown, including music being allowed at restaurants.
On the agenda of the meeting is allowing music in restaurants again, opening hours and rules for weddings and baptisms.
Taking all the latest data from the pandemic numbers, the situation in the National Health System and the course of the vaccination, the infectious disease specialists will submit their report to the government and then the relevant announcements will be made.
The decisions will be announced today at 19:00 local time by Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias.
The Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, will also participate in the briefing.
According to Proto Thema, scientists seem to give the green light for the next steps of relaxation – even immediately.
So from next weekend, music will return to restaurants.
Music was originally not permitted in restaurants as it was believed it would encourage groups to stay longer.
At the same time, curfew is expected to be extended by one hour, starting next weekend at 01:30 instead of the current 12:30.
At the same time, discussions are being made to end curfew by July 1.
The above decisions are taken keeping in mind that lately many stores did not comply with the ban on music, while at the same time more people are hosting parties.
Finally, another measure that will relax concerns the conduct of baptisms and weddings.
Infectious disease specialists seem to give the green light, in parallel with the above measures, to increase the limit of people at these events from 100 to 200 starting from July 1.
