Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, and his wife Camilla, have requested recipes from Chef Lefteris Lazarou, following their visit to Greece.

In March, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were invited by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to participate in the events marking the bicentenary of the Greek War of Independence.

On the eve of March 25, the couple attended an official state dinner hosted by the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, at the Presidential Mansion.

The food was deliciously enjoyed by the couple, that Buckingham Palace through diplomatic channels, have requested the recipes.

"They asked for the whole menu and that makes us proud. We tried to fit as much of Greece as possible in each dish. There were four dishes along with the dessert. You realise that this has made me personally proud," Chef Lefteris Lazarou told Πρώτο Πρόγραμμα.

Regarding the preparation of the meals, the Michelin-star chef said it was a complex process. "I had to strategise on the eating habits of the guests who were invited to our country. So there were a lot of discussions with the embassies about food allergies and about the peculiarities of the individuals."

When asked if he received compliments that night, Chef Lefteris Lazarou explained that when he went out in the hall with his team, he received looks of pleasure.

"All the guests of the evening were invited by the President to greet us and for us to greet them. The eyes do not lie. I know from the look if the other person I offered him was pleased. So words are superfluous... It is no coincidence that one of the high-ranking guests asked for the menu," he said.
