Emirates have resumed flights from Dubai to New York via Athens.
The 'restart' was marked by a symbolic meeting at Athens International Airport (AIA) attended by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Hellenic Republic: HE. Sulaiman Hamed Salem ALMazroui, Emirate's Manager for Greece and Albania: Khalid Al Zarooni and Director of Communications & Marketing at AIA: Ioanna Papadopoulou.
“At Emirates we are very proud of resuming the daily direct Athens – New York connection and optimistic about the rest of our destination network,” Zarooni said.
The Dubai-Athens-Newark flight operates daily with a three-class Boeing 777-300ER.
Emirates flight EK209 departs Athens at 5:35pm and arrives at Newark Liberty International Airport at 9:20pm (on the same day).
The return flight EK210 departs Newark at 11:55pm, arriving in Athens at 4:05pm the next day.
“The connection of Greece with the United States by Emirates facilitates Greek trade and consumer movement and supports tourism in practice,” Zarooni added.
