'Friends' is one of the most iconic, culture-defining shows. The last episode aired 17 years ago, but recently the cast gathered for a special episode.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Mathew Perry and David Schwimmer returned for a one-off special called 'The One Where They Got Back Together'.

The unscripted special celebrated the mega-hit comedy’s 25th anniversary.

Not only did the cast reminisce about their time on the show, but there was also cameos from A-list fans, including James Corden, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, Cindy Crawford, Lady Gaga, Reese Witherspoon and many more.

Let’s be real... we’re still not over the Friends reunion.

After watching the special, it was only necessary to binge watch every episode. That's right 10 seasons, 236 episodes.

But this is when I noticed something very interesting... The classic sitcom paid tribute to Jennifer Aniston's Greek heritage.

In the episode titled 'The One with Chandler and Monica’s Wedding' (Season 7 finale), Rachel [Jennifer] is looking for someone to officiate Monica and Chandler’s wedding when Joey gets stuck at work.

This is when she stumbles across a Greek Orthodox wedding happening at the same venue. Outside the ceremony, a sign reads “Anastasakis Papasifakis Wedding.”

As some may know 'Anastasakis' is actually Jennifer Aniston's surname.

Her father John who was born on the island of Crete, shortened the surname to 'Aniston' when he began acting in the US.

He is best known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on the NBC daytime drama series 'Days of Our Lives,' which he originated in July 1985 and has played continually since then. The role earned him a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2017.

Jennifer Aniston has on numerous occasions credited her amazing and flawless appearance on her Greek background.

“My dad is 100 percent Greek; he turned 84 and he barely has a wrinkle. And neither did my grandmother, who was 95 when she died,” she says.
