The Mitsotakis-Erdoğan meeting: What government sources say

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Brussels on Thursday.

According to Greek diplomatic sources cited by ERT, the meeting lasted about an hour and was in a positive atmosphere.

At the same time, according to the same sources, Mitsotakis and Erdoğan agreed to leave behind the tensions they experienced in the summer of 2020, despite the fact that they have significant differences.

It is recalled that the meeting between the two leaders started with a slight delay.

Government sources said earlier on Thursday that this meeting was another opportunity to take another step in normalising relations.

For his part, before his meeting with Mitsotakis, the Turkish President spoke about the revival of dialogue between Greece and Turkey, which contributes to resolving problems and regional stability.
