Dior Grecian Cruise 2022 Collection (Full LIVE Video)

Front row action was back in Athens as stars headed to the much anticipated Dior couture 2022 show.

The show was held in Athens' historic Panatheniac Stadium which hosted the first Olympic Games in 1896.  Built in 330 BC the Panatheniac Stadium is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble, making it a captivating setting.

Transcendent fashion was showcased at the event, not only by the Dior Cruise 2022 Collection by Maria Chiuri, but also by the prestigious guest list who sparkled and flowed with their coveted Dior looks.

Amongst the guests was American-born Argentine-British actress, model and star of of The Queen's Gambit, Anya-Taylor Joy.

Anya looked every inch the Grecian goddess as she dazzled onlookers in a semi-sheer gown, made of sparkling gold material and featuring dramatic cape panels at the back.

The appearance of 25 year old Anya came after reports that she has been cast to star alongside 58 year old Ralph Fiennes in the dark comedy flick for Searchlight, 'The Menu'.

English model, actress and singer Cara Delevingne, who won Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2012 and 2014, like Anya-Taylor Joy, appeared in a shimmering gold, dress, featuring fringing and edgy black straps, and teamed with a pair of gold cage ankle boots.

Fellow English actress, model and singer Suki Waterhouse looked chic in a floating sage green chiffon dress with a low neckline and flowing sleeves, completing her look with a small Dior bag and sandals - a style of shoe inspired by the Ancient Greek Gods.

Fashionistas describe Dior's Cruise 2022 collection as a "young and sophisticated footprint from Dior" showing us a "lighter and modern woman", achieved through fluidity and overlays.

The Dior couture 2022 show marks the return of the French fashion house to Greece after Christian Dior chose the Acropolis as a fitting setting to launch his 1951 autumn haute couture collection for a Paris Match feature article.

Inspired by this, Dior art director Maria Grazia Chiuri made the decision to revisit magical Athens both as a tribute to the great designer who founded the fashion house that she now leads as well as to honour of the country’s 200th anniversary of independence.

Chiuri’s aim for the fashion show is to "highlight the history of a place rich of myths and symbolism, through the creativity of local artists and craftsmen."

Dior dazzles in honour of the Greek revolution
