Sheikh of Qatar cruises into Skiathos on his Superyacht Al Mirqab

Spotted today off the Greek island of Skiathos with his superyacht Al Mirqab was Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani

For their holidays of Sheikh and former Prime Minister of Qatar Hamad bin Jaber al-Thani once again have chosen the beautiful island of Skiathos for their holidays.

On Saturday morning, the luxury yacht of Al Mirqab anchored at Maratha beach, a stone's throw from Koukounaries.

The sheikh is on the island for a short vacation with family members and his close friends. His presence was immediately was noticed by islanders and tourists alike, as his $300 million, 133-meter luxury yacht Al Mirqab which features two swimming pools, a helipad, five-bedroom suites, a gym, a jacuzzi and a movie theatre to match

The size of the Superyacht does does not it to anchor in the main port of Skiathos therefore the port authorities have informed the Greek captain that he can anchor off the beach between Koukounaries and Maratha beach.

Martha's is one of the 545 beaches awarded  "Blue Flag" and lies opposite the luxurious hotel "Skiathos Palace."

The magnificent yacht won the coveted ‘Motor Yacht of the Year’ award at The World Superyacht Awards 2009 and won ‘Best Interior Design’ in the motor yacht category for her Andrew Winch-designed interior.

Al Mirqab has an aluminium superstructure and a steel hull with a generous beam of 19.5m and a 4.9m draft. She can accommodate up to 60 guests and carry up to 60 crew members on board.

The 133m displacement yacht can have an impressive 23 knots flat out, with a cruising speed of 21 knots. She also features ‘at anchor stabilisers’, which work at zero rates, increasing onboard comfort at anchor and rough waters.
