47-year-old Evangelia Psarra booked a spot into her sixth Olympic Games after qualifying in an impressive showing of archery.

She defeated Ilyassova Alina to secure a spot in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics that will be held between July 23 and August 8.

Psarra joined the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki archery club in 1994 and has been practicing the sport professionally ever since.

Her best placement at a world championship was a bronze medal in 2003.

In her first Olympic Games in 2000, she was defeated in the round of 64 by Natalia Bolotova and finished in 41st place.

Four years later at the 2004 Summer Games, Psarra reached seventh place in the individual competition and fifth with the team.

At the 2008 games in Beijing. she lost in the round of 32 to Chen Ling, finishing 48th.

In London 2012, she reached 33rd place.
