Greece and Libya discuss health cooperation, including Greek administration over Libyan hospitals

Libyan Health Minister Ali Al-Zanati discussed with the Greek ambassador to Libya, Ioannis Stamatekos, several issues of common interest.

During the meeting, discussions of cooperation between the two countries in the health sector were held, Libya Observer reported.

Discussions included cooperation in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, the importation of medical and auxiliary medical personnel, and the training of national personnel.

The meeting also touched on handing over the management of some hospitals to Greek companies specialised in this field and setting up a mechanism to facilitate patient entry visa procedures from Libya to Greece for the purpose of treatment.

For his part, Al-Zanati expressed his desire to meet his Greek counterpart to formulate a clear policy for health cooperation.
