Fellow Greek-Australian Arthur Papas will not be joining Ange Postecoglou to Scottish side Celtic FC.
Rumours emerged that Papas would link up with Postecoglou in Glasgow after working together at Japanese outfit Yokohama F.Marinos for two-and-a-half years.
Since returning to Australia some weeks ago, the Greek-Australian was appointed as manager of A-League club Newcastle Jets.
He also said he spoke to Postecoglou for advice following his appointment to Newcastle Jets.
There was speculation that Postecoglou would turn to his former assistant, but he said: "Ange always makes time as well and just wished me all the best."
"He's got his own massive challenge at Celtic not only for himself, but for Australian football as well. All I can say is that he's a great support," he added.
"I had an opportunity to work in the best league in Asia with him as well, winning the league there, obviously playing in the Asian Champions League as well," Papas concluded.
