Greek water polo team sinks Georgia, makes World League semifinals

The Greek men’s national polo team has made it into the semifinals of the FINA World League held in Tbilisi, Georgia following its victory yesterday over the host team.

The team of Thodoris Vlachos prevailed very easily with 20-8 and secured a place in the quartet, which includes the USA , where tomorrow (30/6, 17:15) they will most likely face Montenegro.

Greece had managed to score  5-0 with captain Ioannis Fountoulis and Georgios Dervisis netting two each before Greece responded.

The Greek team played impressively throughout the match with a highly effective defence and attack, leading 5-0 just before the end of the first period, 10-3 at halftime and 16-4 at the end of the third eight minutes.
