By 3 years ago

The mass vaccination of inmates against COVID-19 in all the country's prisons began on Thursday, according to an announcement of the General Secretariat for Anti-Crime Policy.

The announcement said that 6,105 single-dose COVID-19 vaccines had been obtained to vaccinate all those that expressed interest.

According to the general secretariat, 27 health centres and 45 vaccination lines have been set up within prisons to speed up the process, with a staff of more than 80 supplied by the secretariat.

The General Secretary Sofia Nikolaou urged the rest of the inmates to seek vaccination in order to build up a wall of immunity both within prisons and in society.
