56,000 people on Monday made an appointment for the first jab; 13,500 aged 18-24

Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias, in an interview with SKAI TV on Tuesday, presented data regarding vaccinations done on the previous day and announced that 56,000 people made an appointment for the first jab on Monday.

Kikilias also tweeted about vaccinations: "56,000 citizens made an appointment yesterday for the first jab of vaccination, of which 13,500 are young people aged 18-24 years".

Meanwhile, vaccinations in remote areas starts on Tuesday in Crete, as the Secretary General of Primary Health Care Marios Themistokleous announced during the briefing on the National Vaccination Coverage Plan for COVID-19.

This is a separate operational programme to cover remote areas. The health ministry has contacted municipal officials who inform the residents of the areas and then mobile crews will carry out the vaccinations.

Moreover, teenagers aged from 15 to 17 will be able to set appointments for vaccination as of next week. Details on how these appointments can be booked and how parents can provide their consent will be made available on Monday July 12.
