Greek swimmer Apostolos Siskos placed 5th in in the 200m backstroke final at the European Championships in Rome yesterday, while at the same time scoring a new Pan-hellenic record in the youth category.
Specifically Siskos scored a time of 2.00.45, while in yesterday's small final he had also achieved a new national performance with 2.00.84, improving the 2.00.92 he had scored on June 9 in the Pan-Hellenic Open championship.
The Greek delegation returns at noon today Monday, July 12 from Rome (13.20) with a bronze medal won by Tassos Kougoulos in the 50 metre backstroke.
