The Australian state of New South Wales has recorded another massive increase in new coronavirus cases with 105 locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said that at least 27 of those cases were infectious whilst circulating in the community as she urges the community to be more vigilant than ever before.
240 infringement notices have been issued across the state as police respond to crime stopper reports and attempt to maintain the adherence of the community to the government restrictions.
The maximum penalty that the court can impose for violation of the restrictions is $11,000 and 6 months in jail.
Three removalists, who travelled from West Hoston in Sydney to Molong in rural New South Wales whilst infectious with the virus, have been among the latest to breach the Public Health Order in the past 24 hours.
The men, who allegedly knew that they were infected prior to arriving in Molong, have been issued with court notices and face this maximum penalty of $11,000 fines and 6 months jail time.
Police escorted the men and their vehicles back to Greater Sydney where they have been instructed to isolate for 14 days.
There are currently 76 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Sydney with 18 of those being in intensive care.
A Sydney woman who was infected with COVID-19 has died on Saturday, becoming the fourth fatality as this latest coronavirus outbreak takes the total number of outbreak cases to 1,242.
Further information is available on the Service NSW website.
Meanwhile, Victoria has recorded another 16 cases while there have been zero recorded in Queensland.
