Cyprus: Turkish air violations shortly before Erdoğan's visit to the Occupied Territories

By 3 years ago

The Turks do not stop their provocations, even just a few hours before the arrival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the occupied territories.

Specifically, two F-16 fighter jets passed over Cyprus on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to Sigma Live, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Christos Pieris, confirmed the incident.

According to Pieris, the two F-16s entered the Nicosia Flight Information Region at 3:24 in the afternoon and remained until 5:00 in the afternoon.

"They did not pass over the free areas, but they marginally crossed the Dead Zone in Deryneia. They seemed to be launching test flights," he said.

Pieris said that they will proceed with all steps against Turkey concerning the violation of Cypriot airspace.
