Greek students ride into 2nd place at international motor-racing competition 1

Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia, Greece,  won 2nd place in the Motostudent VI International Competition, held from 15-18 July 2021, on the Motorland – Aragon track in Spain.

The Greek team rode the “Kerveros” as they called their creation and were one among 37 student teams from Europe and the rest of the world that participated in the international competition.

Overall, the team from the University of Western Macedonia received 680.7 points in the general classification and took the 2nd place, behind the team “2WheelsPolTO” of the Technical University of Turin, but leaving behind the teams from Polytechnics with significant tradition in the institution of Motostudent such as the Technical University of Rome, Milan, Barcelona Madrid and the Technical Universities of Germany and the United Kingdom.

The Greek team  was founded in 2014 and today consists of 23 students under the supervision of Associate Professor Dimitris Giagopoulos, who has been supervising its work since the day of its foundation.
