Greece, Cyprus and Jordan talk Turkey and regional issues

Greece, Cyprus and Jordan are holding their third tripartite summit today in Athens after it was originally postponed in 2020 due to the breakout of the pandemic.

The leaders of all three countries will meet at  12 noon at Zappeion Megaron where they areexpected to discuss numerous regional issues including Turkish aggression and provocations in the East Med.

According to government sources Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will join Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss their ongoing cooperation in the region (and beyond), understanding regional challenges and how to address them, with respect for international law and good neighborly relations.

Cypriot Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Christodoulides and Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Natasa Pilides will also attend, and so will Cyprus’ government spokesperson Marios Pelekanos, Deputy Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios and Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Greece Kyriakos Kenevezos.

The Greek Prime Minister  will then receive King Abdullah II of Jordan at Maximos Mansion at 15:50.

Earlier on Wednesday, prior to all engagements, the Greek Prime Minister will address the 13th General Assembly of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association, at 10:00 in the Hellenic Parliament. The Association meets in Greece once or twice a year, while the general assembly is held every two years in Athens.

At 19:00 on Wednesday, Mitsotakis will speak at the 2021 American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) Supreme Convention in Athens, where he will receive the AHEPA Socrates Award.
