Cafe Boheme: Kolonaki's Cozy & Sophisticated Cafe Bistro

Cafe Boheme athens

A favourite hangout for in-the-know Athenians as well as the capital’s highbrow international community since it opened in 2007, Cafe Boheme has a homey yet glamorous ambiance. One of the main reasons for the hospitable and warm vibe here is the friendly and accommodating of the co-owners, Dimitris Manolakis and Cassandra Wagstaffe, and their highly professional staff .The all-day cafe-bistro features a fresh and creative Mediterranean menu that changes daily, top-notch service and delicious cocktails.

Smart-casual, small and warmly buzzy, this place is ideal for a dimly-lit feast or a romantic date at the bar, as much as for a night out with your friends or even a party. It attracts the city’s high-profile professional crowd in their low-key moments, stopping over for a catch-up coffee or business lunch during the day and vibrant, flirty conversations and even a little dancing to the DJ’s jazz-funk-contemporary tunes at night.

The decor features pistachio green walls, dark wood, unique paintings with a Greek aura by acclaimed British artist Alison Wagstaffe decorating the walls, tables decorated with lilies and candles, creating a sense of intimacy even amongst a crowd.

With a Mediterranean focus, the menu changes according to the season and is loyal to the concept of high quality, local and seasonal ingredients.

Try fresh seafood (Manolakis has decades of expertise in running bar- restaurants and once owned highly popular fish restaurant Papadakis in Naoussa, Paros), creamy risottos, homemade thin-crust pizzas (don’t miss out on the truffle pizza) that make a perfect accompaniment to a bottle of sparkling cava or one of the multitude of excellent Greek and international wines available), traditional Greek homemade-style dishes with a modern twist, like aubergine cooked with feta and tomato, orzo with beef and cheese flakes, as well as plenty of healthy options like quinoa salad with avocado and lime, okra in tomato sauce and boiled horta with crispy-skinned, succulent seabass.
