Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias had an extensive telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Monday.
The battling against wildfires was discussed as well as the possibility of dispatching an additional Beriev BE-200 aircraft to provide assistance was requested, the Foreign Ministry said in a post on Twitter.
Dendias and Lavrov also discussed the possibilities for the deepening of the Greek-Russian relations and, in this context, there was an exchange of views on the upcoming visits in the autumn.
EU-Russia relations were also discussed along with the potential of cooperation in civil protection issues.
