The fire in Evia has left behind 1,000 burned houses in the Municipality of Mantoudi alone, according to the Deputy Mayor, Georgios Stamoulos.

Speaking to ANT1, Stamoulos pointed out that in the Evian Municipality of Mantidi, more than 450,000 acres of land has been reduced to ashes, ie more than 80% of the total 550,000 acres of the Municipality.

"In the Municipality of Mantoudi, the fire entered all the settlements, except Mantoudi and Prokopi. There are 1,000 burned houses in our Municipality alone," he added.

In fact, he complained that authorities requested the assistance of aircraft to extinguish the fire fronts, but their voices were not heard.

"It was the voice in the wilderness," he said.

For him, the rehabilitation and support of people by the state is urgent.

In fact, as he concluded, people have nowhere to stay and how to live, warning that in a few months that the "floods are coming."
