His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrives in Imvros to celebrate with His compatriots the 60th anniversary of His ordination.

His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived in his homeland of Imvros, Turkey on Friday 6th of August where he will stay for a week for the celebrations for the Ecumenical Patriarch.

The celebrations for the Ecumenical Patriarch are to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Elevation of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, spiritual leader of Eastern Orthodox Christians through the world and 60 years Anniversary since he began to  serve the Orthodox church.

The celebrations have been organised by Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imvros and Tenedos (in Greek , Ἱερὰ Μητρόπολις Ἴμβρου καὶ Τενέδου ) is a diocese of the Orthodox Church belonging to the Patriarchate of Constantinople , based in Cinarli (the former Panaghia Balomeni) on the island of Imvros in Turkey.

On Sunday, August 8, 2021, after the Divine Liturgy, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew opened the photo exhibition “The wildflowers of the Athos and Imbros Peninsula” by the biologist Stylianos Charalambidis at the Lyceum of Agridia.
