COVID-19: 4,181 new cases in Greece on Tuesday, 19 deaths

An explosive rise in new infections was recorded today by Greek health authorities, which announced that 4,181 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. 

Eleven cases were detected at the Greek borders.

The total number of cases amounts to 521,399 (daily change + 0.9%), of which 51.2% are men.

Over the last seven days, 116 detected cases are considered related to travel from abroad and 2,489 are related to an already known case.

There were 19 new deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Greece, a total of 13,118 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.

95.2% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 219 (60.7% men).

Their median age is 65 years.

84.5% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,848 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

211 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospital (daily change -0.47%).

The average seven-day admission is 206 patients.

The median age of cases is 40 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
