Greek President welcomes Serbian Minister following his arrival with firefighting team

The President of the Hellenic  Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou received yesterday the Minister of Interior of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, who came to Greece accompanying a special unit of firefighters and vehicles sent by his country to help with the firefighting efforts.

The President thanked the Serbian Minister for the assistance and underlined the excellent level of relations between the two countries and the cordial feelings of the peoples.

During their meeting, views were exchanged on regional and international developments, climate change and the issue of migration with both agreeing that the only way to resolve the various problems in the region is international law and dialogue.

Mrs Sakellaropoulou reiterated Greece's support for the European course of Serbia, on the condition that the relevant conditions are met, while Mr. Vulin thanked the President  for the long-term support of Greece.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis later also received Mr Vulin and expressed his gratitude for the firefighting assistance Serbia was providing to Greece.
